WBCN's Adam-12 and 1510 AM's Eddie Andelman moderate sessions.
Saugus Speaks Out, a nonprofit committee created by the Town of Saugus to prevent children and young adults from experimenting with alcohol and drugs, will present a parent/student public forum at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus on Wednesday, April 6th at 6 p.m.
WBCN disc jockey Adam Chapman, (a.k.a. Adam-12), third from left, was at Kowloon Restaurant to discuss the upcoming Saugus Speaks Out forum for students and parents with committee members (from left) Donald Wong, Susan Raiche, John Smolinsky, Meaghan Casey, and Jim McIver. (Committee chairperson Ellen Faiella is not pictured.) Adam will be the guest speaker and moderator of the student forum coordinated and sponsored by Saugus Speaks Out, a nonprofit committee created by the Town of Saugus to prevent children and young adults from experimenting with alcohol and drugs. Popular sports talk radio host Eddie Andelman will moderate the parent panel that will include law enforcement, medical professionals and educators.
The forum will include separate sessions for students and parents to address concerns about drug and alcohol use in the community, according to Saugus Speaks Out committee chair Ellen Faiella. Both groups will have an opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the guest speakers' remarks.
The student session will be conducted by WBCN disc jockey Adam Chapman, a.k.a. Adam-12. In addition to serving as moderator, Adam will reflect on his own career path and how neither drugs nor alcohol played a role on his road to success. Questions asked by the students during the session will enable Saugus Speaks Out committee members to understand the concerns of the students and the issues that they confront as teenagers and young adults.
The parent session will feature radio personality Eddie Andelman of 1510 AM's The Zone as moderator. In addition to a sports talk radio career that has spanned more than 32 years, Andelman has been involved with a number of charities over the years, including his weekly fundraiser that benefits a different charity each week. Joining Andelman will be a panel of law enforcement, medical professionals and educators who will answer questions posed by parents or other interested adults at the forum. Several members of the committee will also be available to discuss the organization's mission and to provide relevant information regarding resources and information about drug and alcohol-related issues.
The forum is open to residents and others within the community. Further information can be obtained by calling Ellen Faiella at (781) 231-5000 ext. 202 or via email at wemm@comcast.net.
