The Friends of the Saugus Public Library and the Saugus Business Partnership (SBP) will co-sponsor the 2nd annual Evening of Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at the Library on Saturday evening, November 13th, 2003 from 7 to 10 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit Saugus Public Library programs, book collections, services and physical plant. The event will also help restore programs eliminated by budget cuts, including popular programs for children and seniors, according to Mary Rose Quinn, head librarian for the Saugus Public Library.
The Evening of Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at the Library will include food and a variety of wines for sampling, along with clam chowder provided by Kelly's Roast Beef and commemorative wine glasses provided by Saugus Federal Credit Union (SFCU), both of which are members of the Saugus Business Partnership. The silent auction will include sports memorabilia, gift certificates, oriental rugs, autographed sports items, and sporting event tickets as well as many more items donated by local businesses and merchants.
In addition, door prizes will be awarded every 30-minutes throughout the evening.
We are grateful to Donald Wong and the members of the Saugus Business
Partnership, without whom events like this would not be possible,
Mary
Rose Quinn said. Events like the wine tasting and silent auction enable
us to continue services to Saugus residents. We hope that Saugus residents
will come out in support of their local library at this fundraising
event.
The Saugus Business Partnership looks forward to again helping this
important community resource continue to provide essential services through
this event,
SBP
President Donald Wong added. We hope that the community will join us in
supporting our local hometown library.
